don't search your drivers on old huge websites. they are too busy to add new drivers on their websites. come to my website. here i add new drivers everyday. and there are already couple million files. you can download driver files for free.


Actually tried to remove it and reinstall it, didn’t work either. I read that about the WDM drivers too, the first drivers that windows 98 automatically installed for the soundcard had WDM written in the name in the device manager. Results 1 to 13 of I’ll try the test utility, not sure what the point is though? A lack of available conventional memory may cause the sound to not work in DOS games, even if it works fine in Windows. Answer yes to the dialog popups until finnished then reboot.

Im hate to get stuck, this is my first try ever in this net help.

I also downloaded a dos driver from the vogons driver archive, on startup it tells me it’s loaded correctly but still there is no sound. Do any of the games ess1869 EMS? Sorry if my english is a bit crappy. Thanks for all the help so far! Always had my mom to fix this kinda stuff. What’s the hardware info on your system?

This fix works for all flavors of the chip. Last edited by j’ordos on Select the hardware tab.

SMILE and post back. I keep all my things on 1 drive, so i would loose a lot if i try. Tried changing it to no already, didn’t make a difference but I didn’t reset the configuration data.

For those of you reading this that use latest release of Linux good luck. The time now is Or change D1 to Rs1869. Hmm, i don’t think there is anything wrong with the hardware. But I’d like to have sound in windows games too. When your system restarts it should detect new hardware and install the correct driver.

Bookmark your post for easy reference. These are default values from when I installed the DOS driver.

You just select soundblaster. Don’t think any driver I downloaded has been a different one than those two. I have tried to make work with Ubunto and Fedora core without success. When the wizard asks if it can connect to windows update and search for a better driver select yes. So really hope for some replies. Don’t wanna install it again if it doesn’t. Hmm It worked well on Win Me.
